KEBERHASILAN IMPLEMENTASI PROJECT-BASED LEARNING DALAM BIDANG BAHASA: PROGRAM DAN DAMPAKNYA PADA PESERTA DIDIK DI SEKOLAH DAN PERGURUAN TINGGI DI DUNIA

Abstrak

Beberapa sekolah dan perguruan tinggi di dunia telah berhasil menerapkan project-based learning dalam pembelajaran bahasa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui program-program menarik yang telah mereka lakukan dalam penerapan project-based learning dan dampak program-program tersebut pada peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui studi pustaka. Data berupa buku dan artikel ilmiah berasal dari berbagai jurnal internasional yang didapatkan secara online melalui berbagai database akademik. Teknik analisis data meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Penelitian ini menemukan program-program menarik yang telah dilakukan oleh beberapa sekolah di dunia yang berasal dari negara Tiongkok, Australia, Finlandia, Amerika Serikat, Selandia Baru, Singapura, dan Inggris adalah program creative language learning, membuat film pendek, menulis buku, dan presentasi, membuat film dokumenter berbahasa Spanyol, the Graffiti project, language experience approach, dan the newspaper project. Program-program menarik yang telah dilakukan oleh beberapa perguruan tinggi di dunia berasal dari negara Finlandia, Vietnam, Australia, dan Singapura adalah program membuat aplikasi web, English for specific purposes, e-language learning, dan language tandem. Dampak program pada peserta didik yakni meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa, penggunaan teknologi, dan semangat serta keaktifan dalam belajar, memperluas wawasan budaya daerah atau budaya negara lain, serta mengembangkan minat mempelajari bahasa, sikap kerjasama, sikap toleransi, dan keterampilan kreatif.
