PRAKTIK SOSIAL KANTIN SEKOLAH DAN KENDALA PEWUJUDAN KANTIN SEHAT DI SMK

Abstract
Artikel ini memaparkan analisis tentang permasalahan serta kendala dalam mewujudkan kantin sehat di lingkungan sekolah khususnya di SMK Negeri 8 Medan. Sekolah ini merupakan sekolah menengah kejuruan yang menyelenggarakan kurikulum tata boga. Secara ideal, keberadaan jurusan tataboga di sekolah ini seharusnya akan sejalan dengan praktik pengelolaan kantin yang menyediakan pangan sehat dan begizi di lingkungan sekolah. Akan tetapi, hasil studi memperlihatkan fenomena sebaliknya. Kantin sekolah yang seharusnya mampu berfungsi sebagai ruang pendukung pembentukan kebiasaan makan sehat bagi siswa, justru tidak terlaksana. Artikel ini bertujuan menganalisis kendala pewujudan kantin sehat dari perspektif struktural, ekonomi, dan kultural. Kajian ini disusun berdasarkan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif melalui tahapan reduksi, kategorisasi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa lemahnya regulasi sekolah, orientasi ekonomi pengelolaan kantin, serta preferensi konsumsi siswa menjadi faktor utama yang menghambat penyediaan makanan sehat. Kondisi tersebut mencerminkan adanya kesenjangan antara pendidikan gizi yang diberikan di jurusan tataboga dan praktik pangan di lingkungan sekolah. Artikel ini menegaskan bahwa pewujudan kantin sehat merupakan praktik sosial yang memerlukan dukungan struktural dan kelembagaan sekolah secara berkelanjutan.
