Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts to IJEI will undergo a rigorous editorial and review process to ensure the highest quality of published research. The following outlines our commitment to maintaining academic integrity and excellence:

Editorial Process

Upon submission, each manuscript will be evaluated by the editorial team for its suitability for the journal. This initial assessment will consider the relevance, originality, and adherence to the journal's guidelines.

Double Anonymous Blind Review

To promote fairness and objectivity in the review process, IJEI employs a double anonymous blind review system. This means that:

  • The identities of the authors are concealed from the reviewers.
  • The identities of the reviewers are concealed from the authors.

This approach helps to eliminate bias and ensures that the evaluation of the manuscript is based solely on its academic merit.

Author Guidelines

The author must submit the manuscript online by first registering as an author on the website https://ejournal2.undiksha.ac.id/index.php/IJEI/index. For every submitted article, the author is obliged to follow the terms and conditions in accordance with the Style Guide of Indonesian Journal of Educational Inquiry (IJEI).

General Structure of the Article

  • The text must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.
  • Types of manuscripts: field studies, conceptual ideas, theoretical applications, or critical reviews.
  • Written in English using Arial font, size 12, single-spaced, and one-column layout.
  • Includes an abstract (200–250 words) and 3–5 keywords.
  • Length: 4000–8000 words, including abstract, tables, figures, and references.
  • Paper: A4, margins (top: 1.4", bottom: 1.5", right: 1.4", left: 1.4").

  • Follow this format:
    • Introduction: Background, literature review, objectives, and benefits.
    • Method: Approach, participants, instruments, and analysis.
    • Findings and Discussions: Results and interpretations.
    • Conclusion: Summary, implications, and future directions.
    • References: APA 7th edition style, managed using Mendeley.
  • Plagiarism, falsification, and fabrication are strictly prohibited.

Title

The title should summarize the main idea of the manuscript and must not exceed 14 words.

Author Details

The manuscript must include full name (without academic degrees), affiliation, and email address.

Abstract

Should include background, objectives, theories and methods, key findings, novelty, and conclusions.

Introduction

Brief background, research goal, and problem gap. Avoid lengthy literature reviews or findings in this section.

Method

Describe research approach, participants, instruments used, and data analysis method.

Findings and Discussions

Present data using tables/figures if needed, and interpret results clearly without repeating visuals.

Conclusion

Summarize findings, relate them to objectives, and offer implications or suggestions.

References

All references must use APA 7th edition style. Use Mendeley to manage references.

1. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is original and does not plagiarize the work of others. Proper citation and acknowledgment of sources are essential.
  • Authorship: All individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research should be listed as authors. Those who have contributed in other ways should be acknowledged in the acknowledgments section.
  • Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence their work. This includes funding sources, affiliations, and any potential conflicts that may affect the integrity of the research.
  • Data Sharing and Transparency: Authors are encouraged to share their data and research materials to promote transparency and reproducibility. Any restrictions on data sharing should be clearly stated.

3. Ethical Responsibilities of Editors

  • Fairness and Impartiality: Editors must evaluate manuscripts based on their intellectual content without regard to the authors' race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
  • Confidentiality: Editors must ensure that all manuscripts are treated as confidential and should not disclose any information about the manuscript to anyone other than the authors, reviewers, and editorial board members.
  • Conflict of Interest: Editors must disclose any conflicts of interest that may arise during the editorial process and recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where such conflicts exist.
  • Publication Decisions: Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based on the quality of the manuscript and its relevance to the journal's scope. They should consider the reviewers' comments and recommendations in their decision-making process.
  • Handling Complaints: Editors should have a clear process for handling complaints and appeals regarding manuscripts and should address any ethical concerns raised by authors or reviewers.

  • Support for Ethical Practices: The publisher must support the journal in maintaining ethical standards and provide resources for authors, reviewers, and editors to understand their responsibilities.
  • Transparency: The publisher should ensure transparency in the publication process, including clear guidelines for authors and reviewers, as well as information about the journal's policies and practices.
  • Handling Misconduct: The publisher should have procedures in place for investigating allegations of misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, and unethical research practices.
  • Promoting Research Integrity: The publisher should promote research integrity and encourage authors to adhere to ethical standards in their research and publication practices.

Retraction

The papers published in the Indonesian Journal of Educational Inquiry (IJEI) will be considered for retraction in the publication if:

  1. They have clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, either as a result of misconduct (e.g., data fabrication) or honest error (e.g., miscalculation or experimental error)
  2. The findings have previously been published elsewhere without proper cross-referencing, permission or justification (i.e., cases of redundant publication)
  3. It constitutes plagiarism
  4. It reports unethical research

Author Fees

IJEI accepts NO payment for submission or publication of articles of all types. All the manuscripts are fully double-blind peer-reviewed and solely accepted based on the merit and quality. Once accepted, the manuscripts will be printed and disseminated without any charges and are made freely available to all readers via the journal website.
