PERAN PERSERIKATAN BANGSA-BANGSA SEBAGAI ORGANISASI INTERNASIONAL DALAM KASUS PERANG RUSIA-UKRAINE

Abstract

The world was quite surprised and concerned about the tensions that had arisen between Russia and Ukraine which began at the end of last year. When tens of thousands of Russian troops were originally stationed on the Ukrainian border. Followed by NATO and the United States starting to act and making tensions started to increase and the crisis would definitely get worse. The role, goals and functions of the United Nations in resolving conflicts were discussed in this essay and their impact on achieving this resolution since The UN had a significant responsibility to find a solution to this problem. This article used a normative juridical design because the data were obtained from literary sources which came from related articles and books. The United Nations should played an important role in this matter as a mediating party that could find solutions from both sides because it was the largest international institution. Because Russia had veto rights over these resolutions, it could be said that the consequences of the UN resolutions had not produced results.
