Author Guidelines
The Indonesian Journal of Educational Inquiry welcomes original and high-quality submissions in the field of education. To ensure a smooth submission and review process, authors are requested to adhere to the following guidelines:
1. Manuscript Types
- Research Articles: Empirical or theoretical studies with clear objectives, methodology, results, and discussions (6,000–8,000 words).
- Review Articles: Comprehensive reviews of relevant literature or research (4,000–6,000 words).
- Short Communications: Brief reports on innovative research or case studies (2,000–3,000 words).
2. General Formatting
- File Format: Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
- Font and Spacing: Use Times New Roman, 12-point font, with double-line spacing.
- Margins: 1-inch margins on all sides.
- Language: Manuscripts must be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia. Authors should ensure the language is clear and grammatically correct.
3. Manuscript Structure
- Title Page: Title of the manuscript, full names of all authors, affiliations, and contact information for the corresponding author.
- Abstract: A summary of the study, limited to 250 words, including objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
- Keywords: 3–5 relevant keywords.
- Introduction: Background, research questions, and objectives.
- Methodology: Detailed description of the methods used, including study design, data collection, and analysis.
- Results: Presentation of findings with supporting data (tables, figures, etc.).
- Discussion: Interpretation of results, comparison with previous studies, and implications.
- Conclusion: Summary of key findings, contributions, and recommendations for future research.
- References: Follow APA (7th Edition) citation style (see examples below).
4. Tables and Figures
Include tables and figures within the manuscript at appropriate positions. Provide clear captions and labels for all tables and figures. Ensure all images are high-resolution (minimum 300 dpi).
5. Ethical Considerations
Submissions must comply with ethical research practices. Studies involving human participants must include ethical approval and informed consent statements.
6. References
Use APA (7th Edition) citation style for all references. Below are examples:
- In-text citation: (Author, Year), e.g., (Smith, 2020).
- Direct quotes: Include the page number, e.g., (Smith, 2020, p. 25).
Reference examples:
- Journal article: Smith, J. (2020). The impact of educational inquiry. Journal of Education Research, 45(3), 123–145. https://doi.org/10.xxxxx
- Book: Brown, A. (2019). Education in the modern era. Oxford University Press.

7. Submission Process
Manuscripts must be submitted via the journal’s online submission system. Ensure all required sections are complete and adhere to the guidelines before submission.
8. Peer Review and Revision
All submissions undergo a double-blind peer-review process. Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts based on reviewer feedback. Revised manuscripts should be resubmitted within the specified deadline.
9. Copyright and License
By submitting, authors agree to the journal’s open-access policy under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA) license. Authors retain copyright of their work.
10. Publication Fees
The journal does not charge submission or publication fees.
