Correction and Retraction Policy
Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Indonesia is committed to maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly record. Corrections or retractions may be issued when errors, inaccuracies, ethical concerns, or other significant issues are identified in a published article.
1. Corrections
A correction may be issued when an error in a published article affects its accuracy or clarity but does not invalidate its main findings, conclusions, or overall contribution. Such errors may involve the text, authorship information, affiliations, references, figures, tables, or other relevant information.
The editorial team will assess reported errors and determine whether a correction is necessary. If approved, the correction notice will clearly describe the changes and be linked to the original article to ensure transparency and preserve the accuracy of the scholarly record.
2. Retractions
An article may be considered for retraction when there is clear evidence that its findings are unreliable, it contains plagiarism or significant research misconduct, it has been published elsewhere without appropriate justification, it involves serious ethical violations, or it contains substantial errors that invalidate its findings or conclusions.
Retraction decisions will be made by the editor following an appropriate investigation and, where necessary, consultation with the authors, reviewers, relevant institutions, or other appropriate parties. A retraction notice will clearly explain the reasons for the decision and remain linked to the original article.
The original article will remain part of the scholarly record, with its retracted status clearly indicated.
3. Editorial Assessment and Ethical Standards
All reports of errors or concerns regarding published articles will be assessed fairly and objectively. Authors may be contacted to provide explanations or supporting information as part of the investigation.
JPBI follows established publication ethics principles and relevant guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) when handling corrections, retractions, and other post-publication concerns.
