Plagiarism Policy

Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Indonesia  is committed to maintaining academic integrity and preventing plagiarism in all submitted manuscripts. All manuscripts must present original work and appropriately acknowledge the ideas, words, data, and findings of other authors.

Similarity Check

All submitted manuscripts are checked for similarity using Turnitin. The maximum acceptable similarity index is 25%. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected, depending on the extent and nature of the similarities identified.

A similarity index of 25% or lower does not automatically mean that a manuscript is free from plagiarism. The editorial team evaluates the similarity report to distinguish acceptable matches, such as properly cited quotations, references, and common terminology, from potential plagiarism or inappropriate paraphrasing.

Plagiarism and Self-Plagiarism

Authors must ensure that their manuscripts do not contain plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, or the unacknowledged use of other people's work. All sources must be cited appropriately, and any reused material must comply with applicable citation standards and publication ethics.

Actions in Cases of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is identified before publication, the manuscript may be returned for revision or rejected, depending on the seriousness of the case.

If plagiarism is discovered after publication, JPBI may take appropriate action in accordance with its publication ethics policies, including publishing a correction or retracting the article when warranted.

Authors' Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality and integrity of their manuscripts, providing accurate citations, and complying with academic writing standards and the journal's publication ethics policies. Submission of a manuscript to JPBI constitutes agreement to comply with this Plagiarism Policy.
