This study aims to examine the role of Augmented Reality as an interactive learning medium in junior high schools through a systematic literature review. The main issue addressed is the low level of student engagement in conventional learning, particularly in lessons requiring the visualization of abstract concepts. This study reviews relevant national and international publications on the implementation of Augmented Reality in secondary-level learning. A systematic literature review method was employed by selecting articles based on eligibility, relevance, and methodological quality. The results indicate that Augmented Reality enhances motivation, conceptual understanding, and student interaction with learning materials. The findings also show that AR promotes exploratory learning and provides more meaningful learning experiences. The study concludes that Augmented Reality is suitable as an interactive learning medium in junior high schools and has the potential to improve learning quality when integrated appropriately with curriculum demands and teacher readiness.
