Handling Allegations
Allegations of research misconduct may be submitted to the journal by authors, reviewers, editors, readers, or other parties who have reasonable grounds for concern. Allegations should be supported by relevant evidence whenever possible.
Upon receiving an allegation, the journal will:
-
Conduct an initial assessment to determine whether the allegation falls within the scope of research or publication misconduct.
-
Maintain confidentiality and handle the allegation fairly and objectively.
-
Contact the relevant author(s) or other parties involved and provide an appropriate opportunity to respond.
-
Conduct further investigation when the initial assessment indicates that the allegation has sufficient grounds.
-
Consult the author's affiliated institution or other appropriate authorities when necessary, particularly in cases involving serious research misconduct or matters that require institutional investigation.
-
Take appropriate editorial action based on the findings of the investigation.
Possible editorial actions may include requesting corrections, issuing a correction or clarification, retracting a published article, issuing an expression of concern, rejecting a manuscript, or taking other appropriate measures to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.
The journal will not regard an allegation as proof of misconduct. All cases will be assessed based on available evidence and handled with due process, confidentiality, fairness, and respect for all parties involved.
The journal encourages anyone who identifies a potential case of research or publication misconduct to report it to the editorial team through the journal's official contact channels.
