Review Process Policy
Jurnal Teknologi Pembelajaran Indonesia applies a peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, relevance, and scientific integrity of all manuscripts submitted for publication. The review process is conducted objectively and fairly in accordance with the journal’s editorial policies and publication ethics.
1. Initial Editorial Screening
All submitted manuscripts are first screened by the editorial team to assess their suitability for the journal’s focus and scope, compliance with the author guidelines, originality, completeness, and basic academic quality. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s requirements may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected without external review.
2. Plagiarism Screening
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are checked using Turnitin to assess textual similarity. The journal applies a maximum overall similarity index of 25%. The editorial team examines the similarity report to identify potential plagiarism and other inappropriate use of previously published material. Meeting the similarity threshold does not automatically guarantee acceptance.
3. Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript’s originality, theoretical foundation, methodological rigor, accuracy of data analysis, clarity of presentation, relevance to educational technology and learning, and contribution to the field.
Jurnal TPI uses a double-blind peer-review process, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other throughout the review process.
4. Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers’ comments and recommendations, the editor makes one of the following decisions:
-
Accept: The manuscript is accepted for publication.
-
Minor Revision: The authors must make limited revisions before a final decision.
-
Major Revision: The authors must undertake substantial revisions for further evaluation.
-
Reject: The manuscript does not meet the journal’s publication standards or is unsuitable for publication.
The final decision rests with the editor, who considers the reviewers’ recommendations and the journal’s editorial standards.
5. Revision and Re-evaluation
Authors must revise their manuscripts in response to reviewers’ comments and submit a revised version within the deadline specified by the editorial team. Authors should provide a point-by-point response explaining how each comment has been addressed. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation when necessary.
6. Confidentiality and Ethical Standards
Editors and reviewers must treat submitted manuscripts as confidential documents and must not use unpublished information for personal or professional advantage. Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and evidence-based assessments and to disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
7. Publication
Manuscripts are accepted for publication only after completing the required review and editorial processes. Accepted manuscripts may undergo copyediting, layout preparation, proofreading, and final checks before publication. Acceptance does not guarantee immediate publication in a particular issue, as publication depends on the journal’s editorial schedule and production process.
Jurnal TPI is committed to maintaining a transparent, rigorous, and ethical peer-review process to ensure the publication of high-quality scholarly work.
