Publication Ethics Statement
Jurnal Penelitian dan Evaluasi Pendidikan Indonesia is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. All authors, editors, reviewers, and journal management are expected to adhere to the principles of honesty, transparency, fairness, confidentiality, and responsibility throughout the publication process.
The journal follows established principles of publication ethics and takes appropriate action in cases of suspected or confirmed misconduct, including plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabrication, falsification, and other forms of academic misconduct.
Responsibilities of Authors
1. Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original works and have not been plagiarized or improperly attributed to others. All sources, ideas, statements, data, and materials obtained from other works must be appropriately acknowledged and cited.
Plagiarism in any form, including direct copying, substantial paraphrasing without proper attribution, self-plagiarism, and appropriation of another person's ideas or data, is unacceptable.
2. Originality and Exclusive Submission
Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. A manuscript submitted to the journal must not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere, except where the editor has been informed and has provided permission in accordance with applicable publication practices.
3. Accuracy and Integrity of Research
Authors are responsible for presenting their research accurately and transparently. Research data must be reported honestly and must not be fabricated, falsified, manipulated, or selectively reported in a misleading manner.
Authors should provide sufficient methodological information to allow readers to understand and, where appropriate, reproduce the research.
4. Data Access and Retention
Authors should retain relevant research data and supporting materials for a reasonable period and provide them to the editor when reasonably requested for the purposes of editorial assessment, verification, or investigation.
5. Acknowledgment of Sources
Authors must properly acknowledge all sources of information, ideas, data, materials, and financial or institutional support used in the research.
Information obtained through confidential communications, such as unpublished manuscripts, private correspondence, interviews, or confidential research proposals, must not be used without appropriate permission from the source.
6. Research Ethics
Authors must ensure that research involving human participants, personal data, or other ethically sensitive subjects complies with applicable ethical standards and institutional requirements. Where required, appropriate ethical approval or informed consent must be obtained and reported in the manuscript.
Responsibilities of Editors
1. Publication Decisions
Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based on the academic quality, originality, relevance, and integrity of the manuscript. Decisions must be made fairly, objectively, and independently, without discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, nationality, political affiliation, institutional affiliation, or other personal characteristics of the authors.
2. Fair and Independent Evaluation
Editors must evaluate manuscripts based on their scholarly content and relevance to the journal's focus and scope. Personal relationships or institutional affiliations must not influence editorial decisions.
3. Confidentiality
Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and may disclose information about a manuscript only to individuals directly involved in the editorial and peer-review process or when disclosure is required by applicable regulations.
4. Peer Review Process
Editors are responsible for selecting qualified and appropriate reviewers and ensuring that the peer-review process is conducted fairly, objectively, confidentially, and in a timely manner.
5. Research Misconduct
Editors should take appropriate and reasonable action when they receive credible allegations of plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, or other forms of publication misconduct.
Where necessary, editors should investigate such allegations and communicate with the authors and relevant institutions in accordance with applicable publication-ethics principles.
Responsibilities of Peer Reviewers
1. Willingness and Expertise
Reviewers should accept a manuscript for review only when it falls within their area of expertise and when they have sufficient time to complete the review responsibly.
If a reviewer is unable to complete the review within the required timeframe, they should promptly inform the editor.
2. Confidentiality
Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share, distribute, copy, or use unpublished information or ideas from the manuscript for personal or professional purposes without permission from the editor and author.
3. Objectivity and Fairness
Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively and provide constructive, clear, and evidence-based comments. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate.
4. References and Citation
Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited when such citations are necessary to support the manuscript. Reviewers should also inform the editor if they identify substantial similarity between the manuscript under review and other published or unpublished works.
5. Use of Unpublished Material
Reviewers must not use unpublished information, data, methods, ideas, or findings obtained through the peer-review process for personal research or other purposes without the explicit permission of the author.
6. Timeliness
Reviewers should complete their evaluations within the timeframe specified by the journal. If additional time is required, reviewers should contact the editor as soon as possible.
Responsibilities of the Journal Management
1. Editorial Independence
The journal management must support editorial independence and ensure that publication decisions are based on academic and ethical considerations rather than commercial, institutional, or personal interests.
2. Transparency
The journal must provide clear and accessible information regarding its focus and scope, editorial team, peer-review process, author guidelines, publication ethics, fees, copyright, licensing, and other relevant publication policies.
3. Intellectual Property and Copyright

4. Complaints and Appeals
The journal provides mechanisms for authors and other stakeholders to submit complaints or appeals regarding editorial decisions or publication-related matters. Complaints and appeals must be handled fairly, transparently, and confidentially.
5. Publication Integrity
The journal management is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the publication process and taking appropriate action when ethical violations or research misconduct are identified.
