Correction and Retraction Policy
Jurnal Penelitian dan Evaluasi Pendidikan Indonesia is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. Corrections and retractions are handled transparently and in accordance with established publication ethics and best practices in scholarly publishing.
1. Corrections
A correction may be issued when an error is identified in a published article that affects the accuracy or clarity of the article but does not invalidate its main findings, conclusions, or scientific contribution.
Corrections may include, but are not limited to:
-
errors in author names, affiliations, or other bibliographic information;
-
typographical or formatting errors that affect the meaning of the article;
-
errors in tables, figures, data presentation, or references; and
-
other substantive errors that can be corrected without invalidating the article's main findings.
When a correction is necessary, the journal will publish a correction notice that clearly identifies the article and describes the correction. The original article will remain available, with an appropriate indication that a correction has been issued.
2. Retractions
An article may be retracted when there is clear evidence that its findings or publication record are seriously unreliable or when the article involves serious violations of publication ethics.
Reasons for retraction may include, but are not limited to:
-
substantial errors that invalidate the main findings or conclusions;
-
fabrication or falsification of data;
-
plagiarism or substantial duplication of previously published work;
-
unethical research or serious violations of research integrity;
-
significant authorship or publication-related misconduct;
-
manipulation of the peer-review process; or
-
other serious breaches of publication ethics.
A retraction decision will be made by the journal's editorial team after an appropriate investigation and, where necessary, consultation with the authors, reviewers, or relevant institutions.
A retraction notice will clearly state the reason for the retraction and will be linked to the original article. The original article will remain accessible where possible, but it will be clearly marked as Retracted to maintain the integrity and transparency of the scholarly record.
3. Retraction Procedure
When a potential case requiring correction or retraction is identified, the journal will:
-
assess the reported issue and supporting evidence;
-
contact the authors when appropriate and provide an opportunity for clarification;
-
conduct an editorial investigation based on the available evidence;
-
consult relevant parties or institutions when necessary;
-
determine whether a correction, retraction, or other editorial action is appropriate; and
-
publish an appropriate notice when an editorial action is required.
The journal may take appropriate action even when the authors do not respond to the journal's communication.
4. Post-Publication Issues
Readers, authors, reviewers, or other parties who identify a potential error or ethical concern in a published article are encouraged to contact the journal's editorial office and provide sufficient information and supporting evidence.
All correction and retraction decisions will be handled objectively, transparently, and consistently, with the primary aim of protecting the integrity of the scholarly record.
