Conflict of Interest Policy
Jurnal Penelitian dan Evaluasi Pendidikan Indonesia is committed to maintaining transparency, impartiality, and integrity in educational research and scholarly publishing. Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that could influence, or reasonably be perceived to influence, the research, evaluation, review, or publication of a manuscript.
A conflict of interest occurs when personal, financial, professional, institutional, or other relationships may compromise independent academic judgment or create a reasonable perception of bias.
1. Authors' Responsibilities
Authors must disclose any relevant conflicts of interest when submitting a manuscript. Such conflicts may include, but are not limited to:
-
Financial interests, research funding, grants, sponsorships, or other support that may be affected by the research findings.
-
Employment, consultancy, honoraria, or other professional relationships with organizations related to the research.
-
Personal, academic, or institutional relationships that could influence the conduct, interpretation, or reporting of the study.
-
Commercial or intellectual property interests related to educational instruments, assessment tools, instructional media, educational technologies, or interventions investigated in the research.
-
Other circumstances that could reasonably be perceived as affecting the objectivity of the research or its findings.
Authors must disclose relevant conflicts in the manuscript or in the journal's designated submission fields, as applicable. Research funding and other financial support should also be acknowledged separately where required.
If no conflict of interest exists, authors should include the following statement:
"The authors declare that they have no conflict of interest."
2. Reviewers' Responsibilities
Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively and disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest that could affect their impartiality.
Conflicts may include close personal relationships with the authors, current or recent research collaboration, institutional affiliations, competing academic interests, or financial interests related to the submitted research.
Reviewers who identify a conflict that could compromise their independent judgment must inform the editorial team and decline the review when appropriate. The editor will arrange an alternative reviewer if necessary.
3. Editors' Responsibilities
Editors must ensure that editorial decisions are based on the scholarly quality, originality, methodological rigor, and relevance of submitted manuscripts to the journal's focus and scope.
Editors must disclose relevant conflicts of interest and withdraw from handling manuscripts when personal, professional, institutional, or financial relationships could compromise, or reasonably appear to compromise, their impartiality.
In such cases, the manuscript must be assigned to an appropriate independent editor. The journal's double-blind peer-review process must be conducted without undue influence from conflicts of interest.
4. Disclosure and Management of Conflicts of Interest
The editorial team is responsible for assessing disclosed conflicts and determining appropriate measures to protect the integrity of the review and publication process. The journal may request additional information or clarification when necessary.
Failure to disclose a relevant conflict of interest may result in editorial action, including requests for clarification, rejection of a manuscript, or further action under the journal's applicable publication ethics procedures.
If a conflict of interest is identified after publication, the journal will assess the circumstances and take appropriate action in accordance with its editorial policies and publication ethics procedures.
By submitting a manuscript to Jurnal Penelitian dan Evaluasi Pendidikan Indonesia, authors confirm their responsibility to disclose relevant conflicts of interest accurately and completely.
